What does it take?

Step 1: check out our TEAM FCA site: https://teamfca.org. There are four tabs at the top… simply review each one from left to right so you can get a little more fired up about all things TEAM FCA! Then on the fourth tab (Start Your Journey)…

Step 2:

- Adults: scroll down to “Volunteers” and click on “Start Here” to fill out your Ministry Leader Application (MLA). Put the name of your FCA Staff point of contact when promoted and it’ll come to us when you submit. When determining if you are a Huddle Coach, Character Coach, or Club Coach, please ask us before continuing through this process.

- Students: contact an Adult Huddle Coach at your School to complete a Student Leader Application.

Types of Huddles

a Certified Ministry Environment

Multi-Sport
a certified ministry environment for a School Campus that brings everyone together in Jesus. Athletes or not; Christians or not, led by trained and certified student leaders to grow in a relationship with Jesus.

Team
a certified small group bible study/devotion for Coaches and Athletes within the intimacy of a Sport Team, on Campus or off. Led by trained and certified student leaders to grow in a relationship with Jesus as teammates.

Club Huddle
off-campus sports for Coaches and Athletes who make significant financial, travel and time investments to create increased exposure to their sport during off-season Campus time, or simply to improve performance in search of next level opportunities. In a typical club experience, athletes invest in multiple practices per week and travel to compete with teams from other Clubs. FCA Sports Clubs, directed by FCA staff, create catalytic missions and discipleship experiences for Coaches and Athletes.

League Huddle
off-campus, developmental sports for Coaches and Athletes offering moderate time, travel and financial investments. Leagues are typically self-contained, and teams play one another within the same league. FCA Sports Leagues, directed by FCA staff, create catalytic discipleship experiences for Coaches and Athletes. FCA Sports Leagues often partner with local churches to mobilize empowered volunteers to serve as disciple-making Coaches.

Action
known for their individuality and risk-taking and include BMX, kitesurfing, mountain biking, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and wakeboarding; FCA Endurance sports such as running, biking, swimming, obstacle course racing, CrossFit, and other forms of fitness; as well as combat sports and the martial arts like our Huddle at Groundstone BJJ!

refers to Coaches and Athletes who compete with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. “All Ability” means the inclusion of all categories within the disability community. Wanna "tear the roof off?"

Outdoors
refers to sports including marksmanship (archery, rifle and shotgun), fishing, hunting, canoe/kayaking and equestrian. In addition to ministering to the Coaches and Athletes who compete in outdoor sports, FCA creates outdoor sporting experiences for donors, staff, and coaches and athletes of all sports. Ready to be "a voice in the wilderness?"

the apex of the sporting world. Most Coaches and Athlete are paid to play, and many might even represent their country in competition! The Coaches and Athletes receive higher-profile attention within maintstream culture. These competitors carry unique mindsets, lifestyles and schedules compared to others. For these Coaches and Athletes, sports is a business.
